Basic Terminology and
Concepts for Quicker Staff Understanding and Task Completion
- Windows Based Software: Familiar
window types and screens make learning the software a breeze.
- Informative Pop-up Windows: As data
is entered into Nexus XP's blank fields, pop-up windows inform users of what's expected in
the blank.
- Terminology based on common Office
Management, Accounting, and Deathcare Service concepts: Staff can use their own knowledge
of their field and industry and logically apply this knowledge to their software usage.
- Single Entry Maintenance: Entering
information in one area automatically updates all instances of that field. Contract
entry, for instance, leads to allocations, trusts, commissions, receivables, property,
etc.
- Intuitive Flow of Steps: Nexus XP's
system methodology is designed with the same procedures, logic and flow that cemeteries
traditionally utilize in their own business management.
Industry Specific Features
- Trust and commission liabilities are
automatically established during contract entry. When payments are made, Nexus XP
automatically credits all funds designated when the contract was entered.
- Bonuses can be tracked according to
volume and reset at the end of each bonus period. Reserve accounts, split
commissions, team sales and special discounts are also tracked.
- Reporting such as trust reporting,
sales reports, commission reports (including deferred payments and overrides) and
liability reports are fully automated.
- Owner and interment/entombment
information is available in a variety of ways including location, owner, contract, burial
and purchaser.
- Customer profiles for all customers
are cross-referenced to show staff all of the information available on a person.
- Merchandise status associated with a
space is tracked and updated. Through this, merchandise liability reports are
readily available and up to date. Associated funds can be withdrawn automatically
or on a monthly basis.
- Nexus XP offers multiple cancellation
options, including automatic return of property to inventory and (if desired) automatic
charge-back to the counselor.
- In the case of returned checks,
payment reversals can be made and the appropriate payments to counselors and trust will be
reversed automatically.
- Service entry such as chairs, flags
and rituals (i.e. religious or cultural) can be entered and reported daily from Nexus XP.
- Automated accounting features allow
instant access to current payoff amounts and access to transaction histories for reports
on amounts credited to interest and principal.
- State trusting liabilities can be
updated as needed via the maintenance menu and are automatically calculated when when
complete.

- Multi-Tasking abilities
for each user allow a user to pause their work in one portion of a project, quickly get
information from a different section of the program and readily return to the original
project with no loss of information or place in the project.
- The Task Center allows you to navigate through your data in a
single screen. Navigate by Name, Service, Property or Contract. You can also access
tasks suited to the category right from the Task Center window. Navigating by contract?
Just a few of the tasks you could access are Edit Contract, Commission Adjustment, Trust
Fund Adjustment, Enter Payment and Reverse Payment. With all of its diversity, the Centralized
Task center offers data access tailored to the specifications of your organization.
- Specialized Report Options allow
users to access, view and print requested information through over 150 built in reports.
Written to meet the tax and trusting laws specific to all 41 states that MBS serves, Nexus
XP requires no custom programming.
- Reporting is further enhanced
by onscreen report viewing, direct printing from report view screens and multiple report
views based in logically grouped, single point of access screens.
- Mail Merge options now allow
the merging of name and address information with numerous customizable letters that you
can create. Nexus XP also allows the filtration of the letters by Name, Personal Type
Code, Mail Code or ZIP Code.
- Rapid Access Menus
offer one touch selection and single screens with a wider range of information.
- Open Ended Contracts
enable pre-need cash advance items adjusted upon delivery, and late payments added after
payout. Contract Financing is no-longer locked in.
- Users are able to Establish
Group ID's to group records together. With this feature, group family, lot
owners and participants together for easy access to the entire group. As an added
benefit, this offers easier access to paper records through simple internal filing
capacities.
- Nexus XP helps organizations to get a
better handle on item allowances and give aways by Recording Sales Discounts
directly on each item in the general ledger.
- Hotlinks are used to
connect contracts to documents, scanned images, email addresses and remembrance web pages.
